FOUND: G40 clear plate with WIFI indicator!?

#1 Post by underclocker » Fri Oct 17, 2008 4:48 pm

FOUND: I know this isn't a likely request to be fulfilled but I picked up an awesome G40, top of the line 3.0GHz w/15" SXGA+ LCD!, but it doesn't have wifi.

It can be upgraded since it does have a mini-PCI slot, so I picked up the lid with antennas, but I need the G40 WIFI clear plate to make it perfect.

Thanks for looking!

I guess you've meant to say G41, right... :D

Good luck with this...you may want to try IBM themselves...I'm out of ideas.

Actually, it's a G40 with the fastest Pentium 4, 400MHz bus desktop CPU that Intel made, model 2388-5DU --> http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... ry=23885du

(I've read that the G41's went up to 3.6GHz!)

There was an alternate model that had an 802.11b wifi setup. I'm a clear plate away from one upping that model with an internal abg adapter.

Well, I've just learned something new...never have I known that G40 was offered with SXGA+ LCD...

You better enjoy it, because I'm envious... :lol:
