FS: Thinkpad R50e ... has an "issue"

I have for sale a Thinkpad R50e.

Electrical Condition:
The machine will boot up and run fine for hours, but it will reboot when the lcd is moved. This has an integrated GPU so it is not the infamous GPU issue. Occasionally after this reboot it will shutdown and you won't be able to power it on for a while. As I post this, the machine is running fine. I don't know what the problem is, but if you want me to run any tests, just ask (but if the problem is solved the price is going up  ).

Cosmetic Condition:
Overall its in excellent condition. This is a crack in the palmrest, but its in center and doesn't go all the way through the plastic (I know... weird, see below). The keyboard has shine, the letter N is heavily worn (see below). The screen has some dust shadows around the edge (see below), but overall looks great.

Specifications:
IBM Thinkpad R50e 1834-BZG
Intel Celeron M 1.4GHz CPU
15" XGA LCD
256MB RAM
No HDD (cover is included)
No Ultrabay Enhanced drive
Trackpoint, no trackpad
Windows XP Pro CoA sticker
Battery and power adapter are included

Asking price is $100 plus shipping. I will ship internationally.

Pictures:
Front
Back
Palmrest crack - Sorry, didn't show up well in the picture, I'll try again later.
N key - Actually a re-purposed F key... looks more convincing in person
White screen - looks better in person

If you have any questions or want any other photos, just let me know.

Or best offer guys!

I'll wait another day or two before putting it on craigslist, if it doesn't sell there it goes to eBay on Sunday.

IMHO, if you added the power adapter, and the 512MB RAM, maybe you could sell it, even though it has no hard drive, and no OS.

Sounds like you originally had a 'heat/fan' issue, or a bad CMOS battery.
It looks really good.
Good luck.

I suppose the idea is that whoever buys this will be either fixing it or using it for parts, and that person is likely to have spares and not need them. If they do need them, that's why I am offering them at additional cost.

I don't see why this would be a CMOS battery issue, its not losing track of the time. The fan is running fine. The restart seems to be happening only when the machine is moved, so most likely a loose component somewhere. The most I've done with this machine is change the CPU, at the time I didn't realize it had a problem and didn't look for any problems.

Updated:
Added some RAM, included the power adapter in the sale, swapped to the original CPU, lowered the price.

BUMP!

Had a buyer that backed out. It might just need a new LCD cable (and optical drive and hard drive).
