I have a 15" UXGA screen off a T42. The screen is beautiful!
No scuffs scratches or pressure marks. One pixel looks stuck/dead on a white screen 2mm from center left side, but not noticeable. I had a hard time finding it. Includes LCD converter and all ribben connetor/cords.

As I wrote in the other thread:
In fairness to all sellers, bumps should be limited to every 72 hours.

Three questions:
1. Is this 15" screen one of the flexview screens?
2. Can a 15" UXGA screen work well with a regular 15" T42 (JXU), or must it go on a the high performance T42p?
3. If it can be placed in a regular 15" T42, how difficult an undertaking is it? I just purchased a T42 with a beautiful flexview 1400x1050 (SXGA+) screen, but it would be cool if I could sometimes swap that screen for an equally beautiful UXGA screen. I realize it won't be as simple as swapping out CD-Rom drive, but I'd like it if it were easy enough to swap one for the other a few times a year (since I can't afford another T42).
Thanks,
Inky

Hi Inky, congradulations finding a T42 that meets your needs!
1. Yes. I belive all T42P UXGA are flexviews. I will double check the P/N when I get home to confirm
2. Yes, the UXGA will fit in your lid. You might need to use a UXGA inverter card to make it work in your T42. I am including it with the sale of the screen. Pianowizard is very knowlegable in this area check this insane
mod out. I will see if he can comment on this thread.
3.You would have to remove the keyboard, keyboard bezel, lid, lcd bezel to get to the screen. Not that hard, but does take a little time. Here is
a link to thinkwiki it has links to very detailed step by step teardown manuals.

The 2373-JXU has the 64MB ATI Radeon 9600, which is the same as what my 14.1" T42 has. I have used my T42 to test several 15.0" Flexview UXGA panels and didn't have any problem, so yours should work also. But you will need to replace your current cable with the one designed for UXGA. You will also need to use the UXGA inverter that
LPC is including.
$90 shipped is a nice price!

Thanks for your input PW.
Inky the screen also comes with the LCD cable, so as I understand the swap will work and you will have all you need. Let me know if you are still interested.

Wow, I didn't know that the cable is also included. The "white" photo does show slightly dark corners at the bottom, but most if not all Flexview screens are like that. And dead pixels are quite common on Flexview panels, including new ones. $90 shipped is incredibly good for this package. If I had a 15.0" R- or T-series that can be upgraded with this panel, I would grab this in a heartbeat.
