Very tough to beat at FRYS.com - 1GB PC2700 Cruical SODIMM - $10 after rebate!

http://shop3.frys.com/product/5475499

I ordered on on Monday and it was delivered today (Wed.) - not bad at all. Great upgrade for T4x, R5x and several other ThinkPad models.

I went for this deal too. My RAM was delivered yesterday.

I wonder if this is clearance time or if Crucial is trying to drum up more business. This deal on the 1GB PC2700 sodimm has been popping up repeatedly the last couple of weeks on Fry's and buy.com. I jumped in on the earlier deal at Fry's and the turnaround was pretty quick...let's see how long the rebate from Crucial will take

A similar deal at Frys for the same RAM, but from Corsair, took 3 month for the MIR-check.

Sweet. I'll just stop there tomorrow after school and grab one. The price before rebate isn't bad either. Good stuff.

Only good for US address :( .

So anyone know what is the best price without rebate?

Maybe someone want to make a few bucks, and help out your fellow Canadian neigbour by getting one for me and we can split the rebate?

Three months is cruel, but at least it arrived. Hopefully, Crucial values its image more than Corsair, we'll find out...

Picked mine up in store just a little bit ago. I hope that Crucial is a bit faster with the rebate too. If the rebate doesn't take forever, this is an awesome deal. Also, today is the last day if people are on the fence. Not to say they won't have another special.

Bought some Crucial RAM from Frys.com. Rebate took 8 weeks.

This is too good to pass up. Can use it on a Dell Latitude.

Crucial, like most companies, takes their time with the rebate. The good thing is, they always seem to come. At least in my experience.

The gotcha seems to be the limit on only one rebate per address. I'd buy four if I could.

Have thought along the same line numerous times! Have also wondered if you've EVER taken advantage of a manufacturer's rebate, if they count that occurance 'forever'. Anyone know?

the rebate usually has an offer number on it. I believe it means one rebate per offer.

A new offer just began on the same item, same $10 after $25 rebate.

I wonder if that means Crucial would honor two consecutive rebates on the same item - with different rebate offer numbers and time frames?

Anyone with rebate experience that can comment?

The rebate form states "Limit (1) one rebate per product per address, except where prohibited by law."

Does that mean forever and from any reseller? Cruical has been selling this part number for at least 2 years.

I'm 90% sure it just means per rebate offer. Each rebate should have a unique number associated with it. If you are unsure whether you've completed that rebate, check the number on the rebate form.

Call that 866-251-9541 number M-F during business hours. You can actually talk to a live person (or their supervisor, if you're persistent!). I've done it several times, with success.

Follow up...this seems to be correct, I received both rebate checks on the same day for different offers on the same model number 1GB sticks from Frys.com and Buy.com.

Bottom line, two 1GB PC2700 Cruical sticks for $20 total. Not bad.

Plus it only took four weeks for the checks to arrive.

Four weeks? That's encouraging. That means mine will be here any day now. Works for me.

I think he meant 8 weeks....
If you go by the first post.

I received the checks before Thanksgiving and sent in the rebate forms the week of my first post. I think that is about four weeks/one month - give or take a few days - I want to convey that the time period was not outrageous.

I waited a few weeks to report back - I've been busy!

- if of interest to anybody, this offer is still valid (for those lucky persons living in the USA!), although the price has been "raised" to $15 (which is however a very, very good price!). The link is still this. Note the extremely good user feedback for this RAM at Newegg's site.

Hey :santa: if you're coming this way (and, yes, I'm still waiting!!), you now know what I wish for Christmas!

Rebate showed today. Sent the rebate Nov 13th, received Jan 15th. Almost exactly 8 weeks, just as promised.
