After a couple of weeks of going back and forth about whether I want to sell this or not, I have finally given in--only because I otherwise will not be able to purchase my sister's T60 from her by December. How great it is to have a sister that thinks Thinkpads are ugly.

The specs. for the T42p are listed below and are from Lenovo's website:

The laptop is in perfect working condition. Cosmetically, it's about a 7--most of the wear is on the top of the screen lid and around the edges. I replaced the old Chicony keyboard with a Thai keyboard that has zero shine. The recovery partition is still on the hard drive. I've already created the recovery CDs so you don't have to worry about that.

The screen has three minor issues--none of which has ever made it difficult to do work (dead pixels is not one of them as there are absolutely none):

1) Pressure marks on the screen. Most noticeable when the screen is off. Please see pictures below.

2) A little bit of bleeding on the right side of the screen (I think that's what it's called when you see light seepage?). Please see pictures below. You'll notice that it's hard to notice even on a plain background.

3) Two small, black circular spots on the screen. One is located in center towards the bottom and the other is towards the bottom right corner--please see the pictures below. I have no idea what they are. They are not surface spots--they are inside the screen. I had one of these spots on Sony laptop I owned about 6 years ago and didn't know what it was back then either.

$310 shipped. Will take Paypal (no cc payments), personal checks (will have to wait till it clears), USPS money orders, and bank checks.

Warning for dial up users: Some pictures are around 50-60K and others are as large as 600K. If you have a slow connection and want to see the pictures, please email me and I can drop the resolution as much as practical and email them to you as an attachment.

I took several pictures of the laptop in different positions and/or angles so you can get a good feel for it, especially the screen issues I noted above.
