I have three T40 motherboards that work perfectly except that they are all missing their security chips. When I take a security chip from another motherboard and attach it to one of these, it gives an error but seems to work fine otherwise.

91P7715 - 32MB/Radeon 7500 10/100
91P7992 - 32MB/Radeon 7500 10/100
91P7997 - 32MB/Radeon 7500 10/100/1000

I'm asking $35 shipped each, let me know if you have any questions!

Which functions and/or programs do NOT work without those security chips?

I just tested them more thoroughly and found that they will NOT boot to anything, though they will go the the BIOS. I made the mistake of assuming that these were like the X31s, which would often remain fully functional (able to boot just fine) even with another ThinkPad's security chip. If anyone still wants these, feel free to make an offer!
