WTB in the future: 600e inverter and right arrow key
The inverter on my old 600e has gone wonky. The backlight doesn't come on until Windows has booted and I press the standby instigator. I temporarily fixed it simply by reattaching my old one, but it's failed again.
Also, the little plastic supports beneath the right arrow key are broken, I suppose the only way to fix that would be to buy another keyboard.
I'm just interested in getting a general idea of how much cheaper I can get the parts here than on eBay.

560, 560, 560, (all in various stages of completion/possession of a screen) 600E that's pretty dead, and a spiffy new X61 Tablet.

Are you sure you can't just replace the plastic supports and the key instead of buying a new keyboard? Usually, the key is made up of a cap and a two piece plastic hinge mechanism.OldManClayton wrote: Also, the little plastic supports beneath the right arrow key are broken, I suppose the only way to fix that would be to buy another keyboard.
Regarding the inverter. Does your LCD have a red/pink tint at all? I'm curious as to why you think its the inverter and not the backlight.
My reason for asking is that I may have just what you need. I'm fairly certain I have a dead 600 machine in the garage (bad mobo, pink backlight, good inverter, good keyboard). For the price of shipping it might solve your problems.

Well, I figured it wouldn't be a good idea to send such small breakable pieces in the mail.
Yea, it has a reddish tint for about three seconds. I just assumed it was the inverter...
How much would shipping be?

I would bet on it being a backlight going out. Mine has a pink tint that goes away after a few seconds and then works fine. You could do a panel swap and it would be better than what you got right now. Dunno how much longer it'll last though.
$10 in a flat rate box. I'll take a look at the machine when I get home and give you the specifics over PM.
