I have an interesting situation on my hands. As a part of one of my laptop purchases I received a brand new WD 250GB 5400rpm IDE (not SATA) disk. I would have use for one for my miniPC but sadly I bought an identical drive for it a while ago (which works great so far, btw) and so this second 250gb disk is kind of useless to me. I do, however, need smaller disks for other purposes.

This drive is practically brand new (maybe 1 month since purchase if that) and hasn't even been formatted. Btw, this is the largest laptop IDE drive that's available. I do have the original box sticker in case you need it for warranty purposes. Warranty is 3 years or so it says on the sticker.

I can offer this nice drive for trade for 2-3 smaller disks. I'm willing to work with various combos and they don't have to amount to exactly 250GB. Nothing smaller than 40GB please and only 5400rpm and up please. Must be IDE as well, no SATA. They all must be in excellent working condition (please test them and scan the surface before sending), warranty doesn't really matter. Manufacturer doesn't matter too. 7200rpm drives are welcome so long as they're PATA.

I would prefer 60-80GB and not larger than 120GB but willing to negotiate. So this is your chance to get rid of those pesky smaller disks hanging around and get a large one instead.

Update: I got several PMs with offers for 2x40GBs. I won't argue about logistics but let's just say that's a bit too low. My ideal combo would be something like:

1. 2x60 + 40 OR
2. 2x80 OR
3. 120 + 60, etc

Other combos are of course possible and all drives being 5400rpms is just fine. Again, I'm pretty flexible about this.
