I just replaced my parents G40 (SXGA) with an A31 (XGA) because its easier on their eyes. I'd like to list the G40 for sale here but its hard to find any comparable sales. I'd appreciate any pricing suggestions. Once I get a price figured out I will repost as "For Sale."

Product: ThinkPad G40 2388-5DU

Original description:
P4 3GHz
256MB RAM ---> 512MB (256MB x 2 modules)
40GB HDD ---> 60gb 7200RPM
15 SXGA+(1400x1050) TFT LCD
24x10x24x/8x CDRW/DVD
Modem(CDC)
Ethernet(LOM) ---> added Atheros ABG wireless and wireless lid
FDD
12 cell Li-Ion battery
WinXP Pro ---> COA only, but I can install XP using the COA.

This machine is in very good shape but for one thing. There is one deep but thin scratch on the LCD in the lower left quadrant. Its a little over an inch long. When visible it looks like a hair stuck to the LCD. See the following:

The machine lid has been replaced with new OEM lid that has wireless antennas and an Atheros ABG card added. The clear plate has not been changed. I will include the original lid. Keyboard has some shine to it, but not a lot though.

AC adapter included. The battery is in good condition.

Edit: Withdrawn temporarily, although your comments are still welcome! See latest post.

I'd say 250-275...

My opinion only.

@ajkula66: Thanks for the response. I appreciate it.

I'm going to withdraw the query for the time being. I mentioned this unit to my father in law and he's interested in taking it off my hands, so I may not end up selling it. Then again, his eyes are about a decade older than my dad's.... :D

Sounds (and looks) like a really nice piece of kit. I'd take it off your hands straightaway if I had the money! Perhaps if you put it up for sale later I'll have found sufficient readies by then :wink:
