FS: Lowered Price - Thinkpad X20, fully working
I just freed up another X20 2662-37G. It has the old BIOS and Embed so you would have to update. I have the X2 media slice with a CD ROM and adapter. It has a 11mb Lucent Wireless pccard, 328Mb RAM and a 20 Gb HD. It starts out with a red tint, but 1 to 2 minute after start up, the tint goes away and the screen is full bright. Battery lasts about an hour or a little more.
If you are interested in an X20, I will sell it for $125 with free shipping. This is a good price for a X20 in great shape.

Correction
It is a X20, not an X21.
The battery lasts a bit over an hour.
Corrected it above. Thanks!

Free Shipping
Ron,
It will cost about $18-$20 to ship it, so I counted that as the reduction. I could have reduced the price, but me absorbing the shipping makes is less of a hassle for both of us and cheaper for the buyer.

Re: Free Shipping
Makes sense. I forgot about shipping terms...rckrchrdsn wrote:Ron,

IBM Lenovo 100s 14" / T61 14.1sxga / X200 tablet / Microsoft Surface Pro 2 256GB / T61 wide and 15.4" and an iPad Air 2 and Ipad Mini 2....
You should check out the USPS Flat Rate box; they start at $9.00 and whatever fits, no matter the weight goes anywhere with a US Zip code (including Alaska and Hawaii) for the $9.00. There are two other size boxes that cost a little more. A typical laptop fits in the $9.00 box, with plenty of room for padding.

Flat Rate Priority Mail
RRhody,
I use them all the time with labels/postage I print out at home. Cool, really killed my use of UPS. BUT "whatever fits" as you say is the key clause. The largest USPS Fixed Rate Priority Mail box is 12” x 12” x 8” and the X31 is 11"x 9". A half inch on either side seems way too little for me. This means I have to go with a home-grown box with lots of room for bubble wrap and shipping will be in the $18 range. If you have seen a bigger one please tell me the item number because I can't find anything larger on the USPS site.
I send a lot of these things to my nieces, nephews, friend, and other relatives. I probably buy 12+ a year and sell them at cost + shipping to loved ones. In fact that is where I got this unit was from a niece I am upgrading for her present for making it into Stanford Engineering graduate school.
Seriously, I like the current USPS service with free delivery confirmation and tracking and flat rate envelopes and boxes, but unfortunately it won't work for shipping a X series or just about any other Lenovo laptop. I also like the fact that if you print the label at home, you still get the free delivery confirmation and tracking, even if you pay higher postage at the Post Office.
Just read this again, it sounds terse and hacked off. Neither is true, just in a hurry.

The Skinny Boxes
I just can't get myself to use them for that purpose. I have that type of box, but .75" of bubble wrap on the broad sides of the laptop makes my feel whoozy. I feel like I am drawing a bulls-eye on the LCD.
But YMMV.

Vote the the skinny box
Well, it's nice to know from someone with that kind of experience. I will have to try it. I have noticed that the USPS doesn't seem to be cavalier their Priority Mail boxes. Hey for $9 it would be nice. Thanks.
