Just curious since I've had this as well as the 5P/MP (both of which, I loved); all that stuff is available for download from HP. I know their site isn't nearly as friendly as IBM/Lenovo, but I've always been able to find what I need after a little searching.

well, Stan, my friend...
if you could point me in the right direction i'd be very grateful. :D

i musta spent 3 hours searching like crazy and found nothing.

browsing the forums over there, all i could come up with is "hp has pulled the links for the older printers". i've found a few links to the service manual on google, but what i'm looking for is just the stuff that came in the box. as far as drivers go, the only download available is a postscript driver. no pcl 5/6 drivers at all which is why i'd like a gander at the cds, too.

thanks!

A quick Google search netted me the Service Suppliment of the 5M/MP which is the same unit as the 6M/MP except for speed. It was a 3Mb pdf download. It looks like RBS found the PCL drivers. I'll look around on my other computer to see if I can find the pdf user guide. I could swear that I have that thing in electronic form somewhere.

I used to have the honest to gosh paper one, until I gave it along with the printer to my father-in-law.

thanks! do you know if the package also applies to the 6p/6mp models in addition to the "L"?

when i search the site for "HP LaserJet 6P", i get one hit: http://software.techrepublic.com.com/ab ... cid=235112 which is for the 6p/6mp, but it's the winnt version.

The 6P/6MP are natively supported by XP.
Use the Add Hardware Wizard and select manually.

Or install the NT drivers, again using the wizard, and select NT Legacy support.

that's how i'm running the printer now. i also ran a laserjet1300 that way for a while, but the pcl driver offered additional functionality. that's why i'd like to get a hold of the 6p/6mp driver cd (or a download). i'm hoping that it also has the appropriate advanced printer control utility.

i'm gonna poke around the hp ftp site and see if i can find a similarly named package for english.

thanks.

I have a cd with the manuals for the Laserjet 4 series. Would that be close enough?
