FS: T60p UXGA excellent cond, upgraded w 4GB, 160GB, Atheros
I'm selling my near mint condition T60p 2007 94U that has been sitting in storage for nearly two years. It's basically a machine that is 2 months old condition-wise, with a nearly unused keyboard and screen (see below).
THE GOOD
No blemishes on case (bar some very slight hard-to-see scuffing on top - see pics below), no shininess on keyboard (looks new), UXGA flexview screen in excellent condition (no bright marks, no dark marks, no pressure points, no dark or stuck pixels, no uneven backlighting, no light leakage, no keyboard marks on screen, no dust or other foreign matter - see pics below). After I bought it new it was used in an Advanced Dock for a couple of months nearly always with an attached keyboard and attached monitor. It lived on my desk, and then I got distracted by another project and it went into storage until now.
IBM EZServe warranty until 2009-09-13. Can be extended for a further year I believe.
It has been UPGRADED with the following:
-- 4GB RAM, GEIL 2x2GB PC2-5300 DDR 667 CL 5-5-5-15, with heat spreaders
-- Seagate 7200.2 160GB drive
-- Atheros AR5BXB6 wireless a/b/g (better performance than the original Intel PRO/Wireless 3945abg)
Has the Sierra Wireless MC5720 WWAN, Bluetooth, 2.16GHz C2D T2600, FireGL V5200 256MB, DVD Multi UJ-842 with DL burning at 2.4x. Machine seems quite silent to me.
Part of the reason why the screen is in very good condition is that it has not been carried around (no flexing / pressure) and a Kensington RadTech ScreenSavrz Optex Screen Protector thingie has always been used (included in the sale - see pics below).
I am also including a Waterfield SFBag, with horizontal opening with flap, piggyback, and carrying strap, the correct dimensions for this laptop.
I have a Thinkpad Advanced Dock FRU 2503-10U for this machine, which can be included in the sale for an additional $100 plus $15 shipping (will be shipped separately in own box). I recently had this replaced (fan was not working) so it is in new condition. This is obviously a good price for this Dock - I'm willing though to do it as an extra incentive for the sale.
THE BAD
-- I installed the upgrade hard drive when it was new and imaged it without making any Lenovo Recovery CDs (as I wasn't interested in using XP). So if you want to do a factory reinstall, you'll need to order them from Lenovo or buy copies from someone. However, for this sale I did make a Windows XP Lenovo install disk which installs a copy of XP which can be activated with Microsoft using the product key printed on the underside of the laptop. (This CD should work with any Lenovo machine with a valid XP product key.) Using this disc I have installed and activated Windows on this machine (see pics below - I will include the CD), and it is a bare install of Windows XP Pro SP2. Buyer can install as much (or as little) of the Lenovo software/drivers from the Lenovo site, without having to put up with all the stuff that comes with the Lenovo preinstall. Nothing has been done with this fresh install of XP other than activate it. The machine is also 'Vista ready'.
-- Because it was sitting in storage for so long, the 9 cell battery, which was sitting in the machine, gave up and appeared to be completely dead when I took it out of storage. EDIT: It has now been determined that there was a recall on this battery (perhaps the reason why it was dead) and so the sale will include a brand new 9 cell battery.
PRICE
I am asking $1200 plus $30 shipping (and a 3% PayPal fee if paying that way - I will accept a check if you want to avoid it). EDIT. Price has dropped to 1100.
I have previously sold a Thinkpad (a T42p) to someone in Denmark though this forum - he was happy with the purchase. I can give you his contact as a reference. I have an eBay ID with 250+ positive feedbacks, roughly half from selling, which I'll reveal to any potentially interested buyer. I'm also willing to do escrow.

Noetus,
Have you checked if the dead 9 cell is part of a battery recall. If it's a Sony manufactured in 2006 there is a good chance that it is part of the recall. If it is you could have a brand new battery by Friday shipped Fedex 2nd Day direct from Lenovo.
Check this link to find out.

Thank you, steveg47. Indeed, it turns out the battery is subject to the recall, so this sale will include a BRAND NEW 9-cell battery, AND a good 6 cell battery. (I haven't been able to check the number of cycles left on the 6 cell because the bare install of windows won't show it, but I believe it is low.)
The part number of the screen is 13N7076, which means it is a BOE-HYDIS.
Pictures:
Almost everything in the sale. The Kensington screen protector is not shown, as it is closed under the screen (see next pic). The Lenovo XP Pro SP2 install disc is not shown either. The machine will come properly packed in a Lenovo laptop shipping box.
Here is the machine open and off, with the Kensington screen saver.
This is another similar shot with the screen protector removed - unfortunately the quality of the pic is not good.
This is a shot of the keyboard with flash on - the flash is harsh, and would show up defects, blemishes or shiny spots.
This is another shot of the keyboard, with different lighting. The trackpoint is the original.
This shot is a close-up of the screen off.
This is a shot of the machine booted up, showing activation, version of Windows XP installed, and CPU and memory (only 3GB shows in the 32 bit OS). The registration details and machine name can be changed later.
This is a shot of the screen with black desktop background. You can just make out the edges of the display case at the edges of the shot. The taskbar has been set to auto-hide, to maximize the desktop area that is black.
This is a similar shot with desktop background set to white.
This is a similar shot with background set to white, but with flash on. The grid of lines you can see is just an artifact of the shot.
This is the top of the case closed. There is a small amount of scuffing here, but it is actually harder to see in person than in this shot, where it shows up.
Front of machine.
Left side of machine.
Right side of machine
Rear of machine. The fan slots (seen in this shot and the previous one but one) are dust free.
Underside of machine. There is one mark on the underside (to the right of the shot), caused I believe by sliding the machine in or out of the Advanced Dock instead of lifting it straight up. I have blacked out the serial number, but will send it to the buyer to confirm parts status and warranty status.
