eBay Hot Categories

eBay produces a PDF each month that lists "hot" categories.

This month, IBM laptops in the 600-666MHz and 350-366MHz are deemed "Very Hot" meaning bids are growing 15% to 35% faster than item counts... which is supposed to mean that demand is outstripping supply.

If I were selling my 600X, seems like this would be a good time to do it.

Do any of you have experience using the "Hot Categories Report"?

No, never seen it, and I buy and sell quite a bit on eBay. Make sure the email is truly from eBay. If not, and you click on a link in that email, you're bound to get some spy wear that tracks you, even if it takes you to eBay....could be that they already are tracking you with such, and that's why you're getting this email...if it is truly not from eBay.

But the info about Thinkpads and good time to sell your 600X is very good news and a great time for you to act.

I forgot the link: http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/hotitems.pdf

This month's is subtitled "January 2005," so it could be monthly.

It is indeed genuine from eBay. Anybody can access it by going to the services page from the home page and then click on seller central. You will find the title "What's Hot" that tracks the previous couple of weeks.
The link you displayed is indeed the current pdf file listed. So it appears now would be an excellent time to sell your Thinkpad. Good luck.

I'm glad it's not bogus. Never noticed it before, but now that I've been educated about it, I see it as another tool I can use! Thanks for the info :)
