Does anyone know if this will work in a T42? Lenovo's site says the T42 takes DDR (not DDR2) and PC2700 (this is PC5300). I'm pretty sure the PC5300 is backwards compatible but I don't know about the DDR vs DDR2 issue.

No. Physically won't fit.
