hey everyone!!!
I guess its time for me to move onto thinkpad x300, and hence i m planning to sell of my beloved thinkpad x61

..
I am in no way to part with it, but i cant afford an thinkpad x300 unless I sell this one..So i m planning to sell my thinky!!!!
as you can see in my signature the config and everything..
I also have the ultrabase with DVD RW stuf..i also have the XP recovery discs for this baby..if needed i can even give you vista ultimate x64 CD as well, provided the price is met...
as for the physical appearance on the thinkpad, i have treated my thinky as my own self [ being a serious thinkpadder since age 16 ]
and also on the arm rest of the keypad i have an original TRD decal as if it says "product of toyota racing development team"
its a very rare decal, tht i got it frm the Newyork auto show...
just look at the laptop and let me know if its cool and PM me if you are intrested coz i will only sell it to serious buyers and cheaters beware!!! BILL IS WATCHING YOU and CAN TRACK YOU
also the warranty is still available until june 2009 i guess..i just got the one year warranty..thought i would upgrade after one year but i m selling it befr tht...and u all knw tht the next 3 yr upgrade is close to 140$ or somethn..but hey this thinky is still in warranty..
coming to one thing which i would like to mention over here is that there is ONE single dead pixel in the middle part of the screen..just one..and its in blue color..just wanted to say tht...not to mislead anyone over here...
also the battery count right now is 96 and the condition of the battery is good..it holds close to 5 hrs with good brightness and wifi with music on ur headphones...actually very helpfull for me when i m in the univ....
also will be great if no shipping is involved coz it will decrease the chances of cheating, but not that i wont do it!!!! lets see !!!!
please PM for the links to the PICS if intrested!!!!

Asking Price?

Why are you even selling the Thinkpad? From your words I deduce that you bought it in June 2008. If you want the X300 so much, why didn't you just get it back then? It had been available for a few months back then.
You make it seem as if you are being forced to part from your beloved X61 against your desire. If you love it so much, why do you even want to sell it? You think the X300 is better? Or do you just feel you must buy it, because it's newer?

How's the keyboard? Are all keys still there/working? Does it still have one (or preferably two) shift key(s) and a Caps Lock key?

You must post asking price as per forum rules.

well u got me
i really love it to the end, but i m getting the x300 now because back then i dint hav da money to afford it..and now i have requirement tht i really need an ultraportable with a CD drive..and also my GF is kinda helping me buy the new one

..so obviously i decided to gt the x300...but i cannot just buy a new one without selling the old one...so

I see. Yeah, the CD drive can be quite a deal breaker. If you don't need it on the go, you can consider just getting the Ultrabase+DVD for the X61. But if you need it on the go, then there is no other Thinkpad solution, but the X300, you are right... In which case, good luck with your sale.
You may want to edit the title of the thread (first post) so that it starts with FS: and includes the asking price. It will make it easier for people to navigate and may attract more potential buyers.

Unless I'm really missing something you need to do a reality check on your $1400. Check some of the other seller's prices.

hmm yeh i know the price is kind of high, well the first thing is that i paid close to $1800 with taxes and stuff..also the price i asked was in tune for my requirement of my new thinkpad..frankly speakin i dint even check the price range of thinkapd x61 w/ ultrabase online..
just now did an ebay search and its around the price of $1350..
well like i said in my previous post, people are welcome to quote a price so that i can think about it..i never say no to development..

said i m still reconsidering my decision about the sale of this thinkpad..just for the sake of finance for the new thinkpad i m considerin of selling it, otherwise i wont even dream of letting this beauty go...

I think taking the TRD sticker off the computer might improve the sale price a bit.
$1400 or even $1300 is a bit high. An X60 might fetch you $600 if you're lucky. It's hard to justify more than twice that for an X61, even with warranty: you could just buy two X60s.

Both of you should take a look at the marketplace rules/guidelines found here:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=17028, especially rules 9 and 10.

Whatever one may think of the asking price, let's abide by the rules, shall we?

Oops...
basketb beat me to it...
And
sportfreak, potential buyer, in all honesty, could care less whether you paid $1800, $18, got this machine as a gift or someone paid you $1800 to take it...what matters is what you're intent on getting for it, as in asking price.
Take it (or don't) from someone who has sold quite a few ThinkPads on this forum, as well as in many other places...
Good luck with the sale.

Maybe the asking price should be added to the original post and this thread trimmed to just the op's post?

I'm not actually looking to buy a new computer right now, so I hope what I posted wasn't taken as low-balling or negotiating. I was just hoping to reinforce the point made by the other user, which I saw as useful advice to the seller.
Nonetheless, point taken. Sorry.

yeh that is a good point..i m really bad at this selling stuff..and hence dats the reason that in all my previous posts i have been asking people to send me or PM me their price which they r looking for, so that even i vil have an idea of how much it is valued for...
all i hear is ppl saying its too high.they dont care for warranty!!!
its a sincere request to people who are intrested in buying this laptop to please PM me their best price..dats the only way i will know the value of the laptop!!!

ok, basketb time to jump on ajkula66
I simply indicated that his price was unrealistic "reality check" which would lead to him never selling at that price.
"in all honesty, could care less whether you paid $1800" is much more inflammatory
Try viewing a comment in a positive light before you go off and blast someone because that's what it was meant in. I didn't tell him he was insane, crazy, etc.
Now I have some sticks of 256MB memory I paid $200 for, do I hear $50
Happy Holidays to all!

Mod Edit - Regardless of whatever else may have been said in this thread, basketb is correct. We do not discuss price on this forum, no matter the intent. I am locking this thread. If the OP wants to open another feel free. This one is hopelessly sidetracked.
