I just picked up an excellent T42 with no problems that I've encountered in many hours of using, on/off etc.

Intel 2200bg wireless card
256+256= 512mg ram

Win XP SP2 and Office 2003 are installed but are not registered software.
good battery (not guaranteed)

Missing 1 rear foot.
NO ac adapter.
slight keyboard shine.

Runs cool, not hot.
I would rate this a 9+ on looks.
