Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
Re: Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
Thank you Cunha for stepping up and got a great deal. I was going to do the same but because I'm in Canada, it will increase the shipping cost for each keyboard. I know you will not have problem to sell them all real quick.
Anyway can you check how much more to ship 1 keyboard USPS to Canada? If the difference is too much or hassle to ship to Canada I also have a US address just across the border too.
I have Paypal but I will also be in San Fran area this Thursday and Friday so I can probably drop off cash to you as well.
Let me know what works better for you.
Thanks again.
Tony

If and when everyone who posted first has their fill of keyboards, and there just happens to be one extra, PM me the exact price. Maybe by then I'll have a new thinkpad and will be able to buy other things again.
560, 560, 560, (all in various stages of completion/possession of a screen) 600E that's pretty dead, and a spiffy new X61 Tablet.
Re: Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
I will contact the folks in this thread and get shipping info so I can make accurate calculations when I have the keyboards in hand. Shipping to canada wont be bad.
If everyone buys the ones they claimed in this thread than they should be all sold out. Feel free to form a line here for backups.
Thanks a lot.
Edit - Please post in here to get in line. Getting a lot of PM's and I will just confuse myself if I start telling individuals things specifically. Easiest in here.

To estimate rates for international shipping check USPS online calculator.
Re: Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
I know how to estimate shipping. When I recieve the package I will measure and weight the keyboards and get addresses for those in line and give them an exact cost, and work from that.
So if you guys want to form a queue than this is the place to do it, and until I get the keyboards in hand there is nothing else I can do

These are the keyboard measurements:
# Width: 11.25 inches
# Depth: 9.25 inches
# Height: 0.8 inches
If they are packed in bulk, they would easily fit in the USPS Flat Rate Box 0-FRB2 (order them free online from www.usps.com)
# Width: 13-5/8 inches
# Depth: 11-7/8 inches
# Height: 3-3/8 inches
which ships throughout the USA for the flat rate of $9.80, regardless of weight.

Re: Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
Thanks for the specs. These have OEM boxes and I want to see if I cant use them for the same price or cheaper than a flat rate box (in the USA) and alot of the orders are from out of country so I have to see if international flat rate or a normal box is cheaper.
I'd rather just do it with them in hand because I wont be able to ship them until that point anyways.
Thanks for the dimensions though.

I know there are probably about 20 people in line for this now, not 10, but please add me to the queue in case there is one left when you're done. I'm in the US, if that helps.

Hm. I don't know if that field wasn't required back when I registered or if I just got confused by two separate location fields, but fixed now. Thanks for the heads up -- guess I've been just a lurker for too long.

PM's have been dispatched to every poster in the thread down to BasketB.
I dont think that every poster will want to cease their opportunity to buy one of these keyboards but if they do, than I will be all out, and maybe left without one for myself to keep..which will be alright.
I will keep you updated. I am going out of town for a few days again tomorrow (grand national roadster show) so dont worry if you dont hear back from me right away.
Thanks guys.

Re: Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
Hello,
I bought an PS/2 UltraNav keyboard from this auction; the seller also sells the keyboard individually, asks for $50 but accepts your best offer of $40. This is the link for the auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-US-English-PS-2 ... 1|294%3A50
I live in Turkey and the shipping cost was $25 with USPS. It took 2 weeks for the item to arrive.
The keyboard is new, genuine IBM and works fine with an PS/2 to USB adaptor like this:

No software/driver CD is provided with the keyboard; but you can download appropriate software from Lenovo's website by following this link below:
For Windows XP : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-60649
For Windows Vista : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-66917
By the way, although I installed the software and drivers for the keyboard, I couldn't find where I can adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad and the trackpoint. Also I can not use the middle button of the touchpad to scroll up&down. I have an ThinkPad X60 with a trackpoint and the middle button really saves my time when scrolling on web pages (I am using Windows Vista x64). If anybody has a solution for this, I appreciate if he/she shares his/her experience on this post.
And finally, this is a picture of the keyboard on my computer desk:

I don't have one of these yet, but have you checked the Mouse control panel to set sensitivity and possibly enable the scroll function of the middle button?
Re: Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
Yes of course; but there isn't any tab on the Control Panel's Mouse section. This is what I exactly need but it is missing on my Vista desktop system.basketb wrote:I don't have one of these yet, but have you checked the Mouse control panel to set sensitivity and possibly enable the scroll function of the middle button?

Now I'm gonna say an eresy, so feel free to correct me in any way. I see (thanks to the member posting just above) that there are drivers for the USB version of the keyboard, and he's saying that apparently those works for the ps/2 model (at least connected as usb).
But ... shouldn't be also drivers for the ps/2 version? I don't see anything on the IBM website, so I'm wondering what we should do if we want to use it as a ps/2 keyboard (install the USB ones even if not using USB? some old driver hidden somewhere?)
Also, one curiosity (for the person posting before)... once used the usb adapter, are the special keys still working? (Fn + etc or volume or Thinkvantage...) I've read that using an adapter would not always give full functionality.

Re: Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
Hello,
I finally found a proper solution for the issue..
First of all, the PS2 to USB adaptor does not seem to work as it should. When you plug the keyboard via the USB adaptor, the system recognizes the keyboard and it works flawlessly... until the next boot. When I boot my computer, the touchpad works but not the trackpoint. The only way to make the trackpoint work again is to unplug and replug the keyboard.
So I plugged the keyboard through PS/2; downloaded and installed updated drivers from Synaptics web site:
http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers
Now I have the "Device Settings" tab on the Control Panel - Mouse section; both for the touchpad and the trackpoint. The middle mouse button also works for scrolling. Here is the screenshot:

Hope this solution will help other people who are willing to use their keyboards on Vista installed systems.
Regards.

Re: Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
I actually have that same adapter (really cheap on eBay), and have had the occasional hiccup with PS/2 keyboards on them. It's worth buying, but I'd rather have the USB version of the UltraNav KB in this case.
Are these lots being sold like this because PS/2 is the older interface, or just some overstock being liquidated? (If so, have there been USB KB lots?)

Re: Ultranav Travel Keyboards on ebay, pack of 10. Group buy?
FYI, I received the keyboard from Cunha on Thursday in excellent condition. Everything worked out of the box with a T60p/WinXP/Advanced Mini Dock/PS/2-USB adapter, except for scrolling with the middle mouse button (and possibly adjusting the sensitivity (I didn't have the need to change it)) similar to what siya-u had reported . Didn't have any time to try different drivers or a PS/2-Y-cable yet but will try next week.

Sent you a PM. They feel exactly like thinkpad keyboards and the ultranav buttons are T4X style not T6X style. I dont have a T4x to compare to directly though. They feel great.

Hope I have $25 left after buying me tablet tomorrow, since I'm on the list.
560, 560, 560, (all in various stages of completion/possession of a screen) 600E that's pretty dead, and a spiffy new X61 Tablet.

Are there any of these left? I may be interested in one if there are extras from the group buy.
Thanks!

The money I would have used for buying one went toward my tablet's RAM.
Guess it's the next person in line then.
I'll keep an eye on the marketplace for a potential buy in the future.
