Just received my keyboard this morning. It is GREAT!! Feels just like my R61 keys and it is very light and thin ( thinner and smaller than I thought actually ).

Thanks again Cunha for all you helps.

Awesome. Looks like you are the first one out of the country to receive their keyboard. 3 remain unsold now.

Do you think we could get another group of 10 interested people together?

I think it may be possible, if given enough visibility here. But, and note the but, I think that that ebay seller has raised the cost for a box of 10 >> the individual price will be a bit higher.

I would suggest you start a new thread with a similar title but adding maybe a big NEW close to it. Adding also some online auctions would probably help.

I'd be intersted in one or two also, I think. Does it look like there would be interest again?

Just wanted to say that I'd also be interested in picking one up from a group order. (I think that makes 6 or 7 from the above comments?)

Here's the current listing.

I remain tempted, but still prefer a purely USB interface without any recognition issues.

Ps2 to usb adapters are cheap.

There are also USB versions, but they are trackpoint only (not touchpad....not that I mind trackpoint only.) I also recollect hearing more positive things about the UltraNav (the ones you listed) vs. the newer USB ones.

I would grab the set and deal them out -- but sadly grad-school finances make such things unfeasible.

That's not the issue, and I do have the kind posted above (as well as the separate versions). Also mentioned above as well, is that they do not necessarily allow recognition of the connected device at boot, or may delay it until other drivers are loaded. Not ideal.

You may be confusing some models with each other. The current USB model offered is as you say; trackpoint, but no touchpad:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 73183.html

However, it was replacing the previous model, which did have a trackpoint and touchpad:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 45849.html

It was also deemed a "replacement" for the last of the full-sized models too (also w/ trackpoint/touchpad):

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 45868.html

Now, considering these have been discontinued, like the older PS/2 model, I've held out hope of some company or distributor eventually dumping these in the same manner that the eBay seller took advantage of (fingers crossed there). There may be even higher odds of it with the IBM server versions mentioned in a recent thread:

http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=90429

If these popped up in lots as well, I would be in like a shot. The prices that these appear for individually haven't been quite affordable for me otherwise. ;)

Just a heads up that it seems you can grab one of the IBM UltraNav (PS/2) boards now at a pretty reasonable rate by offering 35.00 (free shipping) at http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-US-English-PS-2 ... 1165wt_907

Let us know if you offer less and get accepted.

Impatient me just couldn't wait....

I'm glad to see that this old topic is now back active, and that a new group of people is looking for a deal related to these keyboards.

After one year (or more) of using it, I've to say that it's a pleasure for an everyday use. Maybe the extended version of the travel one (the one with also the keypad) would be more nicer, but that one is a bit more complicate to be found.
As someone reported, this keyboard is a bit more easy to show lucid parts... I would suggest to not do the same error as I've done, and to add on it one of those silicon covers, one of the light and thin kinds.

If someone will use it with a kvm, be ready to not manage to use the dedicated drivers (not a biggie, but no way to customize keys, or to deal with gestures etc) since it'll not be recognized (not with my kvm, at least) as present, by the ibm own drivers. But (there's a but) you can still enable the Access IBM button in such situation.

About a ps2 to usb converter, the one I took in a pc junk fair doesn't cause the pc to delay booting etc etc.. so it may be a question related to the brand of chip used to operate the conversion, or to brand and model of the chip.

About the Y split for whoever of us having a single ps2 port (notebook), pay attention when and if you look for one... I've learned the hard way (collection of 4 here now, unused) that there are different kinds since different makers did things differently in their own notebooks... and the wrong one simply hangs everything.

For those in EU interested, i am currently in possession of 3 of these keyboards, unopened and unused. Two years back i bought 10 and have been using them ever since for my different computers, i'm willing to ship the keyboards within EU if there is interest, but be aware that you will have to pay 300 danish krones + shipping. The price is because i had to pay import tax and VAT, in total i payed 540USD for 10 pieces.

I also have 3 extra of these, unopened and unused, so, if someone from Russia (preferrably Moscow) wants to purchase these, they are welcome. Price is 1000 roubles ($35) each.
