Posted here first for a few days, then on to Craigslist and/or eBay. If this one doesn’t strike your fancy, keep watching this space… will have more A31, T30 and T23 rebuilds posted in the coming days and weeks.

P4-M 1.8 GHz .... upgraded to P4-M 2.4 GHz
256 RAM..... upgraded to 2 Gig (2 x 1 Gig, both IBM/Lenovo branded)
40 GB HDD..... upgraded to WD Scorpio 1600BEVE 160Gb 5400 RPM hard drive.
(This is a PATA hard drive, and is covered under Western Digital warranty until July 2011. Drive manufacture date is July 2008).
14.0 SXGA+ (1400 x 1050)..... upgraded with new (IBM refurb) SXGA+ screen.. Beauty!
Wireless... upgraded from 802.11b (MPCI) to Atheros AR5005GS 802.11b/g/super g (108 Mps). 1802 patch applied to BIOS, and 019C patch applied to the cards' EEPROM. Atheros drivers installed and fully operational. Runs well under IBM Access connections. The wireless antennas are the original lid-installed antennas.
Bluetooth wireless card present, original BT antenna installed, and correct inverter and on/off power button functional on the screen bezel.
NO Modem …non-functional due to replacement by the Atheros B/G wireless card…if you require the modem, I will have to replace the Atheros B/G card with the original IBM wireless (802.11b only)/modem card, OR I can supply/install a PCMCIA 56k modem card at no charge. (Can’t guarantee which brand, I have several around here.)
Ethernet (CDC) 10/100. Secure Chip. UltraNav.
New (IBM Refurb) CDRW-DVD Combo IV (24x10x24x/8x) in Ultrabay.
Video Out. Parallel. Serial. External Monitor. 2 x USB 1.1
Excellent condition IBM Li-On battery. Green with 96 cycles count. 38/47 Watt Hours.
EDIT: 2nd battery just found in back of my battery drawer (was labeled as T23, until I rechecked) and will be included in the sale. Even better condition than the first: Green with 71 cycle count and 38/47 Watt Hours.
Latest BIOS updates applied.
WinXP Pro Service Pack 3 installed and updated. WinXP COA included.
Thinkvantage System updates installed.
Includes correct 16V 4.5A A/C adapter.
Spec-wise, pretty much a top-of-the-line T30 model. No memory slot issues, as evidenced by the 2 gig memory. No cracks in any of the plastics. Usual wear and scuff marks on the lid, and the lid also has a 4 x 4 inch "rub" spot on top where it appears to have been cleaned over-zealously. (I did have a new lid set aside specifically for this machine, but unfortunately it, and a new screen, were pressed into emergency repair service when the neighbors' T30 was royally whacked with a hammer- lid and display reduced to tiny carbon particles and vapor-long story!
) The left lid latch was replaced with one from a T23. It latches properly, but it's a tight fit in the groove, and sometimes does not slide freely too and fro.
As-new palmrest with UltraNav. As-new keyboard. And of course, a really beautiful crisp and sharp 1400 x 1050 SXGA+ display. The display is fresh-from-the-IBM-refurb-box and is as clear and bright as they come, of course no marks, scratches, or dead pixels of any kind.
All screws, caps and covers present.
All in all, a very nicely-equipped and upgraded T30. IBM-refurb SXGA+ screen, 2.4 gig processor, 2 gigs of IBM memory, roomy 160 gig hard drive, Bluetooth, and a fast Atheros wireless card. All system board components were thoroughly tested with Notebook Hardware Control, Memtest86, and PC Doctor after installation. No operational issues of any kind.
Priced at $420.00 U.S. and includes shipping to Canada & the continental U.S.
Other Worldwide locations, please PM for rate. I can subsidize part of the shipping, but anything outside Can/U.S. is extremely expensive.
