FOUND: your no-longer-used video-editing software (.AVI)

My daughter is looking for some video editing software.
She mainly has .AVI files, made with her digital camera, so it does not need to be THAT professional.
The Windows Moviemaker (XP-Pro SP3) program crashes all the time, so that's no good (why am I not surprised?).
VirtualDub causes problems as well.
She's tried most of the other freeware programs, and she doesn't like any of them OR they did not handle .AVI.
Perhaps someone has (an older version lying around of) one of these:
- Cyberlink PowerDirector
- Corel VideoStudio
- Sony Vegas MovieStudio Platinum
- Adobe Premiere Elements
that he/she is not doing anything with?
Found a Ulead VideoStudio Plus V10 on eBay from just before Corel bought it.
