I've sold multiple thinkpads on this forum before, you can find feedback in few places.

Can you tell me what Intel wifi card this machine has (either 5100 or 5300)?

laptop is sealed so I have no way of telling what kind of wifi card is in it, except that it is intel.

BTW, just looked up the S/N on the lenovo's site
and it has both the ON-SITE WARRANTY and THINKPAD PROTECTION service till 2011-12-03.
That's worth at least $300, isn't it?

You can use the model number and the serial number to look up the parts list of the laptop. In the parts list, if you see any line that has 1x2 in it, that means it is a 5100 card. If it has 3x3 in it, it is a 5300 card.

you got it, knew about the parts lookup but did not know what part number it was.
shows as 43Y6493 so I guess it is 5100.
