EDIT: See below). The flexview LCD is in excellent condition, around 9.8/10. No scratches, no bright spots, no dark spots, no dead pixels... there is a small amount of light bleed in the corner, not very noticeable. The keyboard looks brand new.

Edit: Shoot I just realized that the plastic grill over the heatsink is broken. I'm not sure when this happened, but the heatsink itself is unaffected. Here's a picture:

Is it easy and cheap to replace the plastic grill section of the laptop?

You would have to buy a new base and move everything (LCD assembly, motherboard, etc.) over to it. Not really worth the trouble, IMHO.

The grill really wouldn't effect you very much, I'd say its mostly cosmetic. But if you are interested in the laptop, and that is keeping you from buying it, PM me.

Installed from a clean copy of XP OEM. But I can throw in a set of T42/R51 recovery discs... those should work with an R50 right?

Yes, the T42 recovery disks will work. This is a nice system, I have one for my son, works just like my T42P, same parts except for the optical drive, it can take the taller versions.

Price drop, I'm also going to be replacing the base, so the machine will be flawless.

Also, does it have Bluetooth?

Gosh I've had so many people locally back out after days of planning or just plain no-show. Dropping the price again.

S.R, this is one of my favorite Thinkpads. The LCD on these is awesome. In fact I just bought another R50P because I had to have that UXGA IPS Flexview LCD once again. Good luck with the sale. This a great price for an R50P. Even $350 would be a steal.
