I also only have a 900mhz, but i guess that doesn't make my other 800mhz any more appealing.

SL5CK 1.13GHz Pentium-3 will not work in a T22...good for a T23 though.

I looked a little harder and I found an: SL5CH

1GHz, 512Kb L2 cache

Sitting in a 2648 planar with fan etc...

Well, the whole base plastics, actually.

Again, yours for the asking.

If you have anything from any other series of TP to swap (early 7XX, A3X or later), that would be nice (I never owned a T2X series thinkpad, except to sell).

Yours,
Peter

PS. Even if you don't have anything to swap, it's yours - I don't support any T2X machines, so it will sit in my cupboard forever...

Nice offer peterh...but that's also the wrong CPU for a T22. It has a 133Mhz FSB. He needs 100Mhz.

SL53S would work ...

If you purchased a T23 keyboard bezel, wouldn't you be able to make an instant T23 'upgrade'?

AFIK, everything else is compatible.

Yours,
Peter

PS. I'll throw-in the 1.13GHz CPU too. As I said before, I don't have any need for this planar or parts.
PPS. Maybe I should make it clearer - I don't want any $$$'s, just a good home for these parts

Ah, I missed the base that you were including. Yes I think if the OP purchased a bezel/palm rest everything else would work. RBS or Ray will be along to correct me if I am wrong here :). Lots of extra work (and expense) when the right CPU could be had for under $30 US shipped though ;).

T20/21/22 mother- and I/O boards differ in layout from T23 mobos and I/O boards (most obvious: 2 USB ports for T23, only 1 for the others).
The base, palmrest, FSB, RAM and CPUs are different.
Only HD, Ultrabay devices, lid and KB can be exchanged.

However, if you are getting a working T23 base, you could transfer the T22 LCD-lid and modify the T22 palmrest with an Xacto knife to make it fit on the T23 (takes about 10-15 minutes).
And then you need to buy PC133 SODIMMs (max. 2x 512MB = 1GB).

Jeez, how difficult is it to be a good Samaritan here

I have everything except the keyboard bezel, keyboard and display assembly sitting in a box here - for anyone who wants it.

Lots of screws too :)

In fact, I also have a display, but I can't vouch for it.

Yours,
Peter
