FS: X40/41/41t Mtron SSD connecting cable.

#1 Post by legbone » Wed Mar 11, 2009 1:13 pm

I'm a current user of x40 and x41.
Because of the slow transfer rate of its original 1.8'' 4200rpm hdd (15~20mb/s),
I tried to upgrade the speed and found the way that I can use the super fast Mtron SSD (70~75mb/s).

Mtron SSD is zif type 1.8'' SSD and only you need is the remodeled cable.
Replacing the HDD to SSD is easy like abc.
You can get HMM(Hardware Maintenance Manuel) from lenovo.com(at google, type in x40/41/41t HMM), and I'll send you the installing pictures with the remodeled adapter and Mtron SSD.

I ask $32 for the remodeled adapter including labor, paypel fee, and shipping within 48 states in the US. Additional shipping fee added to Canada.

For further questions, feel free to PM me.

Thanks.

Hi - a question on this - for $32 I'd get what I'd need to plug a Mtron IDE SSD into my X41 Tablet, correct? All I'd need to do is buy the SSD? And is the hard drive cover anchored to the SSD in some way to make extracting it possible or easy without disassembling the tablet?

Thanks!

Hi, JBuzzard.

In order to install the SSD with remodeled adapter, you need to disassemble the tablet. But it's not that difficult if you can use the screw driver. Once you disassemble the keyboard and the palmrest, the rests are piece of cake. I'll send you the pictures to help you out to install the SSD and remodeled adapter. All you need is HMM for x41t(type in "x41t HMM" at google) and the proper size screw driver.

For further questions, please PM me. I'm willing to help you.

Thanks.

I have two more remodeled zif to ssd cable.
I'll send you the installation pictures to help you easily install the Mtron SSD w/ the cable.

I call $32 including shipping, remodeled cable, and paypal fee.

PM me.

I'll make this post as "sold" when the last two are sold.

One more good offer.
If you purchase my ebay zif type Hitachi 60GB HDD, I'll get the the cable for $20.
This is the ebay link.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0368274263

Original Hitachi HDD transfer rate is about 15~20mb/s
but using this zif type Hitachi HDD, you will get over 30mb/s which increases your computing speed.

Thanks.
