Thinkpad X41 Tablet in very good condition. Hackintosh with OS X 10.5.5. Lots of goodies!
This tablet came with Windows XP Tablet Edition installed, and comes with a valid XP license and the original restore CDs, and you are welcome to reinstall that. However, I have installed Mac OS X Leopard on it. Tablet functionality works, "Ink" (handwriting recognition) works, I've done a lot of tweaking to get it into the best operating shape possible.
Hardware Specs:
- 1.5 GB RAM
- 1.5 Ghz Pentium M processor
- 40GB hard drive
- XGA Display with Wacom pen-enabled tablet
- swivel-convertible lid (standard laptop or tablet "modes")
- Comes with two batteries: original and extended life (one is smaller than the other)
- Two power bricks/cables; also, a splitter so you can charge both batteries at the same time
- A docking station which includes a slot for an external optical drive (no drive included; you can boot from a USB-connected drive or get one that fits the dock)
- Two cases -- one large case that holds everything, and one form-fitting case (more like a sleeve) just for the computer itself
Software specs/OS X oddities:
- OS X 10.5.5
- What works: just about everything except what is noted below
- What doesn't work: sleep.
- What sort of works: the built-in wifi card. There's a special driver you can download, but it is a little flaky.
- What works instead: I bought a USB wifi dongle that I will include with the computer; it is rock-solid.
- You can't just use software update to update the OS on this; it uses a special slipstreamed version of OS X, but it can be updated.
$500. Please include your phone number when you email, and good times to reach you. Local (i.e., in person) transactions are preferred. It's a great machine and I've done the hard work for you (or you can just re-install Windows, if that's your fancy!)
