#1 Post by athlonus » Tue Mar 17, 2009 9:45 am

Hello,

The laptop is actually for sale on eBay. I just wanted to inform those who would be interested in it.

I put the Boe Hydis UXGA LCD, it comes with the 120 gb hdd 2gb memory. (on ebay it says 1 but I will install just another stick) Other specs are indicated in the description.

Here is the item number on eBay. Asking for $390 included shipping to anywhere in the US.

Hydis UXGA LCDs were only offered on T60p machines...what's the FRU of the LCD that you've installed?

Interesting machine, either way.

Good luck with the sale.

I understand that you've upgraded it. My question was on how you got the LCD from T60p to work on a T43?

Several knowledgeable forum members have tried this and failed.

There's a BIG difference between Hydis UXGA from T60p and ID Tech from T42p and T43p.

If you can provide the FRU number of the LCD and actually prove it to be Hydis I'd be very interested in obtaining this laptop.

George: Kindly see the thread Upgrade T43 SXGA to UXGA using T60p LCD - according to that, the swap seems to be straight forward? Another thread discussing the same "direct swap of T60-LCD into a T43" is T43p UXGA screen replacement issues - Inverter question. The other way around, however (putting a T43/p LCD into a T60/p) is difficult as we know for sure, owing to the EDID reprogramming issue etc., but "downgrading" a T60/p LCD and using it in a T4x/p does not appear difficult, judging from the above threads? Maybe I am misunderstandig what you're saying (George); in such case please point me to some thread discussing the difficulties you're referring to.

Gents, thanks for the comments. Please take any other follow-up or rebuttal posts to one of the threads linked by Johan (or start a new one) and let this guy sell his Thinkpad. Thanks.

It is very easy. Here is what I did:

At the beginning I connected a Hydis UXGA to an SXGA+ cable on the t43 and fried the board. It cost me to get another board. Later I got the cable for t43 15 inches UXGA which has different connectors. And it worked just perfect.

Physically Hydis UXGA is compatible into the frame and hinges. I still have one Hydis UXGA in hand. It is identical to what I installed to T43.

Here is the info of LCD:

HV150UX1-100

P/N:13N075
FRU:13N7076

Made in Korea

I hope these help.
