Hello,

I need a keyboard for a 2373-N1U T42 with 15" screen. I think the FRU number is 39T0643. It needs to be in very good condition with all the letters showing. It does not need to be perfect. Ideally, I need the screws as well. For clarity, this keyboard has 3 screws to secure it. For shipping purposes, I live in Canada.

Thanks, .. JDH

Note: I had the model number written down from looking at the unit and it jives with my purchase order, so it is correct. I know it has 3 screws. I know I got the FRU number correct - I just verified it.

So if some one has one for sale, please let me know.

You should double check... the 14" keyboard in the T4x series used 4 screws.

I did double check - twice. Which is why I mentioned it.

My T41 has four screws. A client's T43 has four screws (95% certain as I am not at that machine). But my client's T42 has 3 screws - I counted.

That's because it's a 15" unit, according to Lenovo...

I will go and look at this machine. I may be wrong about the size, but not about the screws. I took my information from the purchase order at the time (still in my email store), but I don't remember it as 15 inch, so I shall have to go and see. ... JDH

As already said, 14.1" T4x keyboards have four posts while 15" R5x/T4x only have three posts - and according to the thread:
R50 keyboard into a T42 or T43? underclocker in his post of Wed Jan 02, 2008 8:57 am wrote:I can also confirm that 14" T4x and R5x keyboards are swappable, as are 15" T4x and R5x keyboards.

You can not swap between 14" and 15" models of either type. They have different screw/bolt patterns and quantities.
Many ThinkPad'ers think that the best T42 keyboard is the ones made by NMB and especially the (old) ones which are "Made in Thailand" are superb. See this post for more info... and then go hunt a 93P4780... :-)

There seems to be a 93P4780 --> here - ask if it is Thai? I just sent you a PM.
