I have an ibm thinkpad r40 type 2681. I am looking for a replacement motherboard . I am not sure what other motherboards are compatible with my system. My system board part # is Fx93p3564. I can't find anything on ebay if i type this part number.
Any kind of help/ suggestion/offer will be appreciated. Thanks

If I remember correctly, they are all compatible if you buy one with the CPU. If you buy one with a base, there are 14" and 15" bases so you can use it as is if buy the right size, but if not, you need to use the board. Some of the motherboards are compatible with pentium 4 CPUs and some take Pentium M CPUs. The Pentium 4 chips have a higher clock speed, but the M is more efficient so a 1.8 mHz P4 CPU is similar in speed to the 1.4 mHz pentium M. Some of the P M boards have Celeron chips which are slower.
