FS/FT: ThinkPad Dock II Type 2877
Posted: Thu Apr 02, 2009 7:57 am
I have a ThinkPad Dock II Type 2877 that needs work. If you need a full capability docking station and are handy, maybe you can fix it.
Or for a brand new one, see my post below.
A few weeks ago, it just died, the fan does not spin and no power goes to the laptop. This unit has a built in power supply (no AC adapter needed), so, it is either a bad power supply, or a blown fuse.
I have too many other projects right now, and have spare docks, so if anyone wants this for repair or parts, make me an offer; I hate to see it go into the trash. It will cost a bit to ship (weighs about 6 LBs with box) so price will be PLUS shipping. Includes keys, does not include power cord (you need the standard "Mickey Mouse" AC cord which you probably already have).
I am asking $15 or B.O. + shipping (it will fit in a flat rate priority box for about $10). Make me an offer (please, I need to cover my shipping and gas to the PO plus maybe a couple of beers!). Also I will consider trade for a Thinkpad part of similar value.
It has 4 USB 2.0 ports plus DVI plus Ultrabay 2000 plus PCI slot and etc. so it is VERY handy to have (if it works!).
Here's the url http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 46393.html
and the brief description:
-Key lock security
-Pass-through connection to all ThinkPad ports
-Serial, parallel, keyboard, mouse, FDD, monitor, four USB 2.0 connectors (USB 2.0 capability required on attached ThinkPad system), line-in, line-out, and digital monitor support/DVI*
-Integrated power supply
-Ultrabay 2000 device support
-Industry-standard half-size PCI slot
-Two Type I, two Type II, or one Type III PC CardBus slots
-Security for ThinkPad Dock, ThinkPad system, and options
-Plug-and-play (dynamic reconfiguration and hot/warm docking)
-System on/off button on dock
-One-touch system hot/warm undock button
-Compatible with all A, T, and X Series ThinkPad notebooks
NOTES:
* If DVI is supported on the attached ThinkPad system.
DVI supports up to SXGA resolution.
Thanks!
Mike
