SOLD - T43 2687D4U w/ 15" Flexview Display

#1 Post by dwilsonfl » Sat May 09, 2009 12:38 am

2687D4U T43, 15" Flexview LCD, 512mb RAM, Intel Pro Wireless 2200 BG, XP Pro COA affixed to base, no HD, but will come with caddy etc.

Includes CD/RW DVD, Extended battery (replacing original and in green), and A/C Adapter.

I've just replaced the fan, and run it for two weeks and it works great even with only 512mb of RAM. In pretty good shape overall, conservatively I'd rate it an 8 out of 10.

I have a couple of 40 gig HD I could put into it, but either gives the 2010 error, so I figured I'd just see what the barebones unit would bring. Right now I have a Seagate Momentus 80 gug 5400 RPM running. Gives the error at boot but BIOS lets you keep on booting up after the nag screen.

I'm looking for $230 shipped priority - Pay Pal ok (without any Hard Drive, but if you want one let's talk)
or trade for or toward 14" T43 or 12" X40 or X41 or other interesting trades.

I'll ship USPS Priority mail within the US only.

Thanks,

David

David,

It must be a tough decision to give up a flexview.

What screen resolution were you interested in on a T43?

original specs according to Lenovo

Product: ThinkPad T43 2687-D4U [change]

Operating system: All [change]

Original description: P M 750, 512MB RAM, 40GB 5400rpm HDD, 15 SXGA+(1400x1050) TFT LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X300, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11a/b/g wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro COA

warranty expired

subtract the HD - everything else is there and yes it comes with an extended battery and AC adapter.

I don't have T43 recovery disks so it's running off a hard drive I had in an R51 (that does not go with the machine), and doing well.

George and Harry, help me with the "Flexview" part. I am not wise in the ways of IPS. :)

Simple enough: ALL T42 and T43 units in 15" format with SXGA+ resolution left the factory with IPS FlexView LCDs, either ID Tech or LG (the latter more common on T43s), with a 400:1 contrast ration and 200 nit brightness.

Hope this helps.

finally added a few pics with my lousy old Canon of the screen and couple of others. If anyone wants more let me know.

Also, I bought a Fujitsu (MHV2060AH) 60 GB HD on ebay this morning (5/18) that I hope to have in the T43 by the end of the week. This HD does not give the 2010 error. S/B a pretty nice machine when all is said and done.

Thanks,

David

So what would the price be with the Fujitsu drive?

The Fujitsu drive is in and works with no 2010 issues, and I have loaded a copy of Windows 7 RC1 on it. The COA for XP Pro is intact on the machine. Win 7 runs great on it, but as you know, will run out next spring.
