Can someone verify this card will work in a T42 with the latest BIOS (and without the no 1802 hack)? It's a Phillips branded 91P7301. The one I usually see recommended here is a 39T0081.

What leads you to believe these are Atheros (note spelling) cards? The pictures on eBay have Intel stamped all over them.

My card arrived and I just unpacked it, looks like a new card still in original wrapping.

the MFG date is 2004 09

The cards pictured are random cards, they sell several manufacures of cards depending on the auction. the one you will get is the philips,
I pulled back the label in the one i just got and it has an Atheros chip on it.

EDIT* I am unsure why they put up photos of different brands of cards though.. I know they were trying to demonstrate the different types of cards so you can ensure compatibility with your laptop.

The FRU is for an Atheros chipped card with a Philips tag. I think the pictures you're referring to are generic ones meant to just show installation.

On a side note: I have 3 of these cards with the same FRU. I can beat that ebay price! $15 shipped for each within US or CA! Just send me a PM.

Yep, because that's a card for machines prior to T43/p...you need IBM (Atheros) II and not I...

meh, I patched my Bios.... it's giving me problems in MAC OS X though :)

I got it because they claimed it was compatible along with IBMS screwy IDEA to give the I and II cards the same name and linked both drivers on the same page when i typed in that FRU.

I ordered 2 of these cards from the seller. They both seem to be working just fine so far. I had some issues with the Windows drivers initially, but once I got those ironed out everything has been fine. Ubuntu on the other hand does not appear to like these cards on a fresh load. It appears some changes need to be made to set the system to use the older driver for these particular Atheros cards. I haven't had time to verify this as true just yet.

I received my card in good shape, but have not been able to get it working. This T42, a 2373-JTU, is still showing this error message at bootup: "ERROR Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller in slot 01 Bus:02, Device:02, function 00".

This is getting a bit off-topic here in the Marketplace, so please see this thread in the T4x Forum:
