It would probably help if you defined low-end a little more concretely. If you're on a tighter budget, don't forget the R60, which you can probably get less expensive than the T60 with the same specs. It's a solid notebook too.

low-end: battery and hd-size don't matter, 1GB, 1.8 or 2GHz, 14"...
Am T-Series fan, last 7, 8 purchases were T or X series so I'd stick to the letters if possible, but you're right - I'll take the bids for R60, too.

I meant what you're willing to pay more than the specs. There's a nice R60
here on eBay. I bet it goes pretty cheap cause of the T1300 CPU. You can get a T2300e pretty cheap if you want to do the swap. Plus it's still under warranty, which means you could extend it if you like. The 14" R60 is a nice machine. Mine, which I had for almost three years, was probably the most trouble free notebook I've had. Good luck in the quest.

Hi Fred!
Forgot to mention: I need it to be rather silent and I need to be able to hook it up on a 1920x1200 resolution display. 1.6MHz single is a bit low for my needs, and don't feel comfortable with replacing the CPU. I still think I'd willing to pay extra for the T-Series, if I find the one that fits my needs (silent, hi-res, more then 1.8GHz)
cheers
EDIT: just bought a T60 on eBay, thanx everyone!

I have a 2GHz T7200 CPU T60p with 3GB of ram, 320GB HDD ABGN wireless, Verizon WWAN and a 1920x1200 screen. I'd let it go for $600

Just realized you first posted this around midnight and then bought something on ebay in less than 3 hours. You must be needing one of those badly.
I would say give this forum a bit more time next time and you might find this to be a better deal than ebay.

Actually, I'm continuously purchasing T-Series laptops, so I'm open to any offers.
I was in no hurry, but I think the eBay deal seemed very good so I got what I needed.
