My laptop just died and so I am in the market for a new(used) laptop.

Hi, I am looking for a laptop to use as my main machine.

I have a few requirements :
Must be Core 2 Duo (needs to be 64bit)
Must have warranty for at least 1 year
Must have perfect screen with no dead pixels or blemishes.
Must not have had any problems as this needs to be reliable since it is my only machine.

I don't care that much about HD space, or screen size.

Please PM with your lowest offer as I am comparision shopping. I already have one picked out on ebay but, would rather buy from someone on this forum if possible.

Thanks

I may have something for you, but might not meet your criteria.

I pmd you so you can evaluate it, regardless.

Unfortunately, I don't have any laptops to offer you, but I have a couple of comments on your demands that you may want to consider.

As long as there is any warranty left, you can extend it by 1 or 2 years. This costs extra, but if the selling price of the machine is very low or it's specs are very high and you like it, it may be a cost-effective solution.

I would not automatically disqualify any machine that "had problems". Depends what the problems were and how they were fixed. Just because a machine had no problems up to a certain point does not mean it is less likely to develop problems later. One good example is the LCD. When buying used laptops that are 1.5-2 years old, I would much rather buy a unit where the LCD was replaced due to a certain defect (blemish, dust spec) etc. within the past several months. Because this LCD is likely to be newer and brighter.
