FS: Thinkpad 570 INTERNAL floppy drive (not Ultrabay) - $10

#1 Post by virge » Sun May 31, 2009 4:58 pm

I'm cleaning out my home office and I'm coming across quite a few parts that I've collected over the years.

This internal/external floppy works with any Thinkpad that has the floppy port connector. These were commonly used with the 600/770/560/570 series machines. I'm sure there are others that use it. However, this is not your usual external or Ultrabay floppy.

The unique thing about this drive is that it was made for the 570/E series Ultrabase so it can be carried internally and used without the cable. This allowed you to have both an optical drive and floppy drive installed at the same time. I haven't seen many of this type. Most of the IBM external floppy drives do not fit inside the Ultrabase.

Price: $10 shipped within the USA. Comes with cable for external use as well.
Current Thinkpads: 600E, 600X, 701C, A31 (Flexview), R51 (Flexview), R60, T42P (Flexview), TR50E, T60 (Flexview), X61s (Ultralight), Z61m (Ti) Non-Thinkpad: Toshiba 100ct
