I have this IBM thinkpad power adapter here.
It's the AC/DC adapter. FRU:22P021 , P/N:22P9003

I'm looking for the cord or part that connects to the car or a 12V .
I only have the cord that plugs into the house.

I think what's SaberX is looking for is the DC power cord which plugs into the vehicle's cigarette lighter and goes to the adapter. The one that I carry with me has an FRU 73P4510 label on it and looks like this:

Almost....
I have the adapter now. Just need the cord that plugs into it for use with the car .
This is an e-bay listing for one just like i have.
But just look at the photo and i'm missing the cord at the top in the photo.
The plugs into the aux 12V in a car.

Thats the one i'm looking for Ray.
Thanks for the FRU #.
I cant seem to find just that cord on e-bay.I thought maybe someone here may have a broken adapter and have no use for the cord.

The cheapest place I can find it is $29.04 USD directly from Lenovo parts. I'd go for another entire unit on EBay if it were me .....

how about homebrew?

the cigarette plug is easy enough to find, and I
suppose you can live without aircraft usability: the
tough part is the connector that goes into the
brick. This has four connectors, in fact looks much
like the yellow tip of the G40 charger. Just trying it
with such a charger, the fit is good.

So if you can round up a G40 compatible connector,
you're in good shape--for example, eBay item
400014090785 shows the yellow connector that is
compatible with your 22P9021: $15.00 BIN,
throw away the rest.
