Wow, these are all soft domes? Normally the collection contains two of each kind (soft dome, soft rim and cat tongue).

Back before I discovered the joys of the reverse cap, I would kill for a collection of soft domes. These are almost impossible to get without a new Thinkpad keyboard. On the other hand, the corporation where I work with its thousands of Thinkpads has an unlimited supply of the other two kinds (because they just don't give the spare caps to people with their new laptops). So I can ask for new soft rims whenever I want, haha.

Thanks for posting this. I think I paid about $20 + shipping three years ago from IBM for one variety set.

I got two 4-packs shipped for $1.98, wow... This style is the one I prefer. I might've gotten more but wanna leave some inventory for others

According to this site, mine are still "Step 2 of 4: Pending Payment", even though I paid immediately by paypal during checkout Friday night.

Has anyone else had their status proceed to step 3 or step 4 yet?

I've received a couple emails since ordering, the most recent was a shipping update stating the order was in transit. The order was also paid via paypal.

BTW, the website thinkpads.com (via forum benefactor) describes this trackpoint cap sale and includes excellent photos and descriptions of the three types of trackpoint caps available.

At last the status changed and I got an email today saying it shipped, yay

Got mine today, two week on the dot. Anyway, they're the soft dome type which is a nice change from the cat's tongue texture. They look to be the real thing, but it honestly doesn't matter.

Mine arrived. Texture seems a little harder than ibm's, but they work fine. I bought 10 packs (40 caps) and they came in a little ziploc bag. It's great to have plenty of these on hand for a change.
