First i never realy used one befor, only a HTC Touch cell phone for a few min's.
I'm not realy sure whats good or bad out there in the Pocket PC's.

I dont want to spend alot.I have seen on e-bay.ca theres a Dell Axim X3 for about 30.00.This seems like a deal for someones first unit.I would have to add a SD WI-FI card.


Anyone have a cheap pocket PC for sale?

There are the X3, X30, X50(V), and X51(V). The X3's are the older of the bunch. I don't know too much about them but have read that they don't have built in WiFi.

I used to have the high-end X30 and it served me well. It had a 624 mhz processor, bluetooth, infrared, and Wifi. There are three different types of X30's. The base unit which has only around 300 mhz processor, no bluetooth, and no wifi. It also has an SD expansion card (non-SDHC) and no CF slot (the X3 and X50's have the CF slot).

Then there are the last PDA's Dell made. The x50 and x51's. The V series are VGA screen devices with 640X480 resolution. The rest of Dells PDA's are QVGA (320X240) resolution. I have both types here at home (my sisters X30 and my X51v) and the detail in the VGA screen is very noticeable! The VGA types have a 16mb video card in them I believe and allows you to get a VGA cable to hook up to a monitor or other compatible display. The X50/X51 series also have both a CF and SD card slot. If you get a PDA with WM6.1 or above SDHC is supported

I have 16Gb of data in my PDA- music, television shows, and programs. It really comes in handy

I bought a HTC Touch so I don't have to carry a cell phone and a separate PDA around.
(And I also use it as MP3 player, so it's a 3-in-1.)

If you're a heavy user you may want to get something with a full keyboard.

I looked at getting a smart phone for all in one unit but i don't use a cell very much to be getting or spending about 50.00 per month on one.
I use a cheap pay as you go cell phone and works good for my needs.

I ended up picking up a like new Ipaq H4150.Has 3.5" touchscreen,wi-fi B and blue-tooth,and lots of other cool stuff(few usb/charging cables,cradle,few cases,2gig SD card).Only thing it needs a new battery.The one in it wont take a charge.I have two new batteries coming from e-bay now.

Best thing is i got it from a good friend and know the full history of it from new.And got it for $60.00 cdn for all with two new batteries coming. Not bad cause when he bought it new few years ago it was almost 500.00.

It's useing WM 2003 Prem.Not the newest but goot for a starter unit for me.I have never used one befor .

I dont know if i can update it to 5.0 or 6.1.I dont know how to do it or if it's even posible to do.

I just have to wait for the new batterys to show up befor i can do anything.With the old battery it wont even turn on.

There's a driver out for SDHC support in 5.0 but... I don't know if it would work on an HP PDA. I'm pretty sure it would since it's running a WM OS. Also WM 6.1 and the latest 6.5 offer native SDHC support.

It's a media player and my ultra-portable internet device

I'll look into the SDHC driver.
But for now i have two extra 2 gig SD cards for it.
If i find i like this whole Pocket PC thing , i'll sell this one and get a newer one.

But i think this one i picked up will be a good starter unit.
