Reason for Sale

I recently bought this ThinkPad R61 and shortly thereafter found a nicely configured ThinkPad T400 and bought that, so I no longer have a use for this machine.

Condition

The laptop is in very good condition. Only the touchpad, spacebar, and corners are slightly worn. There are some very faint scratches on the top cover. Other than these there are no cracks, scratches, paint chips, or any other blemishes as far as I can tell. There factory warranty recently expired.

I can configure this laptop according to your desire (install/uninstall softwares etc.) or leave it up to you to configure it for yourself. It looks like the previous owner installed a fresh copy of Windows Vista Home Basic, along with some ThinkVantage and basic necessity softwares. I have only installed some benchmarking softwares and will remove those before I ship it. The 2.4 GHz CPU is very snappy and is a major upgrade over the T2500 in my Dell.

Just to give the potential buyers something to consider:

This 14.1" R61 is a very nice laptop. In terms of case design, materials, thickness and weight, it is virtually indistinguishable from a 14.1" T61. The R series has a reputation of being inferior to the T series, in these aforementioned features, but this does not apply to 14.1" wide models R61/R400.

Thanks for the friendly advice dr_st. Yes indeed, the R61 is almost indistinguishable from my T400 when the two are placed side-by-side. I heard good things about its build quality, including the fact that the 14" even has the same screen roll cage protection as the 14" T61.
