Hi guys. As i am now of eligible age to drive, I am looking to buy a car. I finished building my dream laptop, but I believe it is time to move on to more serious things. I have here a very powerful laptop. Here are the specs:

MSI GX720 (custom built by me)
Intel core 2 quad q9100 2.26 GHZ, 12MB Cache
3gb ddr2 667 ram
Nvidea 9600m GT flashed bios to 9700m GT
320gb 5400 RPM Drive
Intel 4965AGN wifi
2.0 Mega pixel webcam
turbo button for on the fly overclocking
media control buttons
bluetooth
expresscard
sd card reader
firewire (400)
4 USB (1 is a hybrid esata/usb port)
ethernet and modem jacks.
how much would you pay for it?
1920x1200 WUXGA Matte! (Does 1080p!)
I built this as an alternative to the Lenovo W700, and it cost me quite a bit less. The quality is almost that of a thinkpad. very nice audio options

Asking Price: 1000$. Its a 4th of what a w700 would cost. Built by me. It even has chrome speakers lol.

Impressive specs. However, I'll have to stick to my thinkpad. Good luck!

Assuming 9600M GT, it's a very powerful machine (for a laptop), both for gaming and for CPU-intensive tasks. For someone on a limited budget (who cannot afford a W700 or comparable workstation model), and needs a desktop replacement, it can be a nice option. MSI's laptops are known for some interesting features traditionally aimed at multimedia users, such as true 7.1 analog audio output jacks, HDMI, etc.

Yes i use it mainly for Playstation 2 emulation/Gamecube Emulation, as well as some heavy video encoding tasks. lets just say i can play ps2 while encoding a movie and not lose any power for either. Graphics card is also no pushover, and its MXM, meaning it can be upgraded in the future for a better graphics card.

Warranty remaining?

Maybe not relevant, since it is custom-built, but still...

sorry, no warranty since its a custom built. But if you want to tinker, tinker with caution. Day to Day work should be no problem. As for software, it won't have any, leaving you to put the operating system of your choice (even Mac OS X is known to work on this laptop, pretty much the same as a macbook pro except i have a way better processor ;) )
