LF: Ultranav Travel keyboard right shift key assembly

#1 Post by plympton » Tue Aug 25, 2009 1:24 pm

Edit: Looks like the Ultranav Travel Keyboard does use the T43 keys like I said. Probably can't find any broken Ultranav keyboards, but I figure I should ask... anyone have any spare Ultranav Keyboard parts laying around?

I have a USB Ultranav Travel keyboard, and I busted the right shift key and it's bugging me. I broke one of the scissor part nubs, and then lost the rubber part and the shift key itself. Essentially I need the whole assembly.

Anyone want to help a fellow padder out? :-)

What does the mech look like ? Do you have a photo ? I have parts from Chicony and NMB keyboards available for postage costs.

Man, so complicated!

I *believe* it's an NMB, since the leaves are black plastic, and oriented from top to bottom (shift key, anyway), and not left to right or vs. versa. The rubber buttons are white, though, not blue as in this post I saw:

My keyboard looks like this:

So far I've tried the following keyboards with no luck:

02K4785 - 600 series
02K4871 - 570 series
02K5545-02K5729 - T2X series
08K4986 - T4x series

I've also tried my A31 keyboard and that doesn't fit either. Don't have the FRU (because I'm typing this on it).
Current Thinkpads: 600E, 600X, 701C, A31 (Flexview), R51 (Flexview), R60, T42P (Flexview), TR50E, T60 (Flexview), X61s (Ultralight), Z61m (Ti) Non-Thinkpad: Toshiba 100ct

Hi

I think the travel keyboard - while superficially looking like the T4* keys - actually use different parts.

I had one a while back and could not find any replacement for my parts box.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Maybe change the advert to specifically look for parts from a travel keyboard.

Done.. sounds like I might as well either live with it, or get a new keyboard. There was a PS/2 Thai one for $33 or so... PS/2.. blech.

Looks like the travel keyboard is a strange beast, and uses unique keys. Just FYI.

If anyone wants any travel keycaps (well, mostly Spanish or Thai :-)), mechanisms, or rubber parts, let me know before they get tossed.

PS: I tried converting the PS/2 keyboard to USB, but no go - everything plugs in, but the trackpoint & touchpad don't respond to anything. Looks like it would work, but I COULD have fried something on the USB PCA....
