the fun part:

The bottom of this ThinkPad says: "Assembled in the U.S. from U.S. and non-U.S. components for Lenovo". Stamp is from April of 2006, so slightly before official takeover actually happened.

My own T43p has the same script, but I have seen no more than ten units out of T4x generation that have borne it, and I've literally seen thousands of them. For the IBM purist in all of us, this is likely your last chance to dance...

known imperfections:

- above average wear and sticker residue on the lid/bottom
- COA is MIA

The FlexView LCD is downright spectacular, bright, crisp, gorgeous. A truly rare find. Keyboard and palmrest shown next to no wear, almost deceptively good shape.

Asking $300 firm plus shipping, and am willing to send this thing of beauty almost anywhere. I might be interested in a swap for a smaller ThinkPad, be it even, up or down.

That sounds like a fantastic T43. Unfortunately I prefer 14.1" models, otherwise I'd be all over it!

I happen to have an R60 (9457-Y1X) dated 06/11 with the same stamp. Also gives the Factory ID: IA.
Still has warranty till 12/29/09.

To save this rare bird from getting parted out, I'm now offering to:

- install the bluetooth/modem combo card with proper clearplates

- install the palmrest with fingerprint reader

- include a 9-cell battery in "green" condition

all for the same low price of $300 + shipping costs.


I will NOT lower the price if you don't want the upgrades. These are parts that I have sitting around, and am offering them in good faith to save this ThinkPad from an untimely demise.

If this machine is not spoken for by midnight EST on Monday 09/07 it shall be parted out against my better judgement.
