I have a malfunctioning T60 and would love to buy someone's used T61 or comparable machine. I can wait a bit. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks so much everyone for your replies. I wish I'd waited...... but I went ahead yesterday with fixing mine..... It's good to have options though and I will be in touch. If my ship comes in, your TPs sound great and I might go for a backup one.
