WANTED: 1 GB memory for T23-2648

#1 Post by likesspace » Sat Oct 24, 2009 7:49 pm

Well guys, I guess the title says it all.
I'm looking for 2 - 512 modules for a T23, 2648 computer.
I'm pretty new to the whole upgrade thing so please, if I need to provide more information just ask.

Thanks,
Dave

Can someone clear this up - can I fit 2x512Mb of SoDIMM to a T23-2647? Running the http://www.gtopala.com SiW application it says the max memory is 512M - perhaps that means for each slot?!

Do I have to balance the two memory modules or could I buy one module with the maximum amount of memory? is there any advantage one way or the other apart from cost?

I'm looking at getting some memory from http://www.ebuyer.com unless somewhere better can be recommended - I just bought 3G of their Extra Value memory for my main machine and that is working fine and it was the cheapest price I could find.

Thanks
Neil

@lemonstar:
If yours is a real T23 (2 USB ports on the back), then you can fit up to 2x 512MB in it.
These have to be 144-pin Sodimm PC133. Any type/make will do.
There's no need for balancing, you can mix'n'match different RAM sizes as well in any way you like.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
