Re: wtb: SXGA lcd for 14" T43, HDD>40gig for T43, new 9cell batt
Welcome to the forum!
If you don't want to see the "2010 error" on boot, you need either an IBM-approved drive with a FRU number, or one of the later Fujitsu drives such as MHV2120AH or MHV2100AH which are 120GB/5400rpm and 100GB/5400rpm respectively. These are the largest drives that don't trigger the error. If you don't mind the error, you can install ANY PATA/IDE laptop 9.5mm drive.
Any 14" SXGA+ LCD/lid will work with your T43, whether it originated in T40/p, T41/p, T42/p or T43/p...however:
If your 14" T43 has Intel graphics (model numbers beginning with 187x), nothing but XGA will work on it.
I have a 14" SXGA+ complete LCD assembly from a high-end T42 machine, complete with antennae, hinges, inverter and cable. Screen is very bright but has one noticeable pressure mark that comes out mostly on light backgrounds.
PM me if you're interested.

Whatever led you to believe that a Intel-based 14" T43 will work with anything else than XGA, was wrong, plain and simple. Tried by many knowledgeable forum members, and no one got it to work.
The machine that I have for sale is a 15" unit which is a completely different ballgame.

Re: wtb: SXGA lcd for 14" T43, HDD>40gig for T43, new 9cell batt
Karsten,
I just bought from ebay a 14.1" T43 SXGA+ screen assembly and am willing to sell it to you. It is the whole lcd+lid+inverter+WLAN cables+bluetooth cables, sou all you have to do is remove the palmrest, keyboard and upper frame. If you have an ATI x300 in your Thinkpad T43 then it should work.
I bought it to put in my sister's T40, which has an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500. The screen is in great shape with some minor small scuffs on the screen lens. I don't see any dead pixels. The reason why I'm willing to sell it is I wanted to get 1400x1040 SXGA+ resolution running under Windows 7 and I haven't been able to find an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 driver that will run it at that res. The standard VGA driver runs 1400x1040 natively, but there's no hardware acceleration. I have more details on my fun in the T4x forum.
PM me if you are interested!
Kurt
