buying second hand t60
Is it worth to buy t60 w id 1951-w67 for $480? Looks like new, with 1year warranty.

CPU is very low-end, other than that it's a nice config. Rare combination of SXGA+ screen and Intel GPU gives lots of screen space and good battery life as well. Assuming you don't do 3D-intensive things, you won't miss the ATI GPU. CPU can be upgraded eventually.
As for pricing, I'm no expert. In the US, with a larger market it feels like you can cut a better deal sometimes. In my home country of Israel, it would be a very sweet deal. In Bulgaria, where you seem to reside - no idea.

It's a 14" so...not a FlexView...nice specs though.

Great model anyway considering you like lightweight notebooks! You can just put out the ultrabay and have an even more lightweight notebook! The intel gpu drastically improves your battery life (I noticed that from my "Frankenpad" where I changed the ATI gpu with intel gpu). I do not see any speed problems when netsurfing, youtube or videos. Only htdv videos can have their problems if you are surfing the same time. But I hope nobody buys this notebook to watch movies on it

Here is my post from my signature about the intel gpu in my T60 ( I had an ATI x1300 gpu before, so it's a comparison review):

Re: buying second hand t60
I used one of these at work, mine had 2G ram, slightly faster CPU, same screen. It's a pretty good package and the price seems good to me though I'm not current. I'd want more memory than your default spec.
Performance is good. Screen has bluish cast, poor off axis viewing, it's fine straight on. Compared to flexview, screen is meh. Compared to the modern LED lit screens (which are junky IMO) sadly it looks rather vibrant, resolution is way more useful than the modern junk. Form factor is great. The unit is moderately noisy and the wrist rests get uncomfortably warm, a pet peeve of mine and a deal breaker though not atypical.
The older thinkpads had nicer components but less performance, the newer ones are faster and cooler running but with junk displays. T60s are sort of transitional middle ground, both better and worse than those that came before and after, less lovable than they ought to be. But still decent depending on how you prioretises the compromises.

Re: buying second hand t60
Thanks again. So I bought it this afternoon! Here is hard to find good model. 15min with spray for LCD cleaning my "Think" looks just like new
Soon, probably I will post some comments.
Re: buying second hand t60
On a similar model with a slightly faster CPU (T2400, see sig.) and CoreAVC codec I'm able to watch Full HD (1920x1080) H.264 videos using about 60% CPU time on both cores. Smooth even on scenes with a lot of moving details, viewed on my 23" LCD (see sig.) scaled up to 2048x1152 (16:9).ssd_thinkpad wrote:Only htdv videos can have their problems if you are surfing the same time. That being said, doing other things at the same time can cause some stutter but mostly due to Windows task scheduling. Setting the WMP process to high priority lets me easily browse using the laptops LCD when the movie is smoothly playing on the external monitor. Intel graphics really isn't that bad if you're not gaming or doing 3D stuff.
