I'm looking for an old Intel WiFi "B" card that's on the T4x whitelist. I have a T41 that needs a wireless card, but haven't been able to get rid of the error message to let it take my extra Atheros card.
So, I'm looking for somebody who has one of these, that maybe they have extra due to an upgrade to "G" or something.
I've got one coming now. Thanks everybody!

Stupid questions on my part: do you have the latest BIOS and what's the FRU of that Atheros?

I'd say this is right on, I've never come across a T4x that didn't accept either the IBM branded Atheros b/g, a/b/g or a/b/g II adapters. Check the BIOS and EC.
Let me know if you still need a "b" adapter, I've got about five on hand.

The BIOS is 3.23 which looks to be current. The machine acts like it's taking the hack, but then spits up when the card is inserted. And yes, you guys are absolutely right; this is the first machine that I've come across that doesn't seem to take the hack. I'm not smart (or brave) enough to manually hack the BIOS so I'll just wait for a card since it's going to be working with old "B" AP anyway. It's a co-worker that's just happy to have wireless! Thanks for everybody's thoughts and offers, it looks like my brother is going to send me an appropriate Intel Pro 2100 this weekend.

Just a FYI. I learned last week that the Intel 2100B card can handle WPA2!

That's awesome. I'll give it a try if their AP can handle it as well.
