Not sure the best place to ask this.....
Whats the going price for a nice 14.1" SXGA+ LCD screen?Just the screen or whole lid.
I looked on e-bay and prices range from 50.00 up to 200.00+.

I just want to get an idea if it's worth while looking to upgrade from an XGA.
The thinkpad is a T43 with X300 ATI video.

Also i guess whats the going price on a 14.1" XGA screen from a T43(like new)?

FWIW, I sold a complete lid with SXGA+ LCD from a 14" T42 with one notable pressure mark for $50 shipped. Good XGA LCD complete with lid should catch about the same.

The last time I sold a flawless 14" SXGA+ assembly I got $80 for it...

I just installed this complete T43 SXGA+ assembly on a friend's T40p (the assembly did include the BT antenna). It was $70 delivered (free shipping with Buy It Now) --> http://cgi.ebay.com/14-LCD-IBM-Thinkpad ... 0430546796

The LCD was flawless and bright, the cover was dirty with light wear. It cleaned up very nicely. I'd say it was a good price and a good deal.

I'd say you can fetch about $50 for a complete XGA T4x assembly in similar shape, so with a little labor and a little money, you can do your upgrade.

Thanks for the info on prices. It's just what i'm looking for.
Looks like when everything is done, buying a nice SXGA+ screen, swapping it for the XGA i have now and selling the very nice XGA screen i have now , should only be a 30.00 to 40.00 upgrade.
Not bad...
But for now i'm just going to use the XGA.I may look at getting something newer soon.
