Rescued ThinkPads

#1 Post by jronald » Sat Nov 21, 2009 6:50 pm

I stumbled on a banana box full of Think Pads headed for the shredder. While none of them were free, Im not attempting to make a killing on them either. A22m, T22, T30, A31 and A31p, R40 and R51's.

I started with the A22m's first:
ThinkPad A22m 2628-TSU
PIII 1.0GHz (256KB),
128MB RAM,
30.0GB HDD,
14.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD,
8x-2x DVD,
Intel Combo,
TV out,
Li-Ion battery, both unit batteries hold about 30 mins
Win98 COA with 2000 Pro

I have 2 of these, both have a new install of W2kPro, these have unique, but recycled 2k serials. Small Business Office 2000, Avast, FireFox and BelArc Advisor.
Unit#1 Has an Edge Core wireless card and is a nearly perfect example a 9+, well taken care of laptop. The only issue I have found is you need to hold the floppy just right to get it to insert $105.00 shipped CONUS Price dropped $20.00
Unit#2 Has a very pink screen on start up, it also has a very fine line (sometimes green, sometimes purple) that extends up from the bottom of the screen. Light backgrounds its not bad on, dark backgrounds it really stands out. It also has significant sticker residue on the bottom of the case. $60.00 shipped CONUS Price dropped $15.00

Either of these are also best offer!

Ill add others as I work through them.

At 45mins, it still shows more than 1:30 left. Thats with the IBM monitor and the Notebook Hardware Control panel. Frankly Im a bit shocked it still shows that much time left. I wish my T30's had this type of life.

i am interested in the A31p for my little collection..

for those that don't remember prehistoric times, the A30 series had the ability to house three spindles..
HDD bay, and two ultrabays..

what condition cosmetically and, of course, does it work..?

Looks like all 3 of the 31p's have been into at one time or the other. They range from near perfect to a fixer upper (that may be sold) They all power up, but thats about as far as I have gotten. 3 of the R40's power up, and both of the T30's are SXGA screens, but are not original.

Im still working them.

I am interested in the cheaper one, when you have a minute can you let me know if it has the ability to display video out to a monitor instead of its own LCD?

i had a bunch of misc. dongles for several legacy thinkpads..

and i think i know where they are..

EDIT:well, i found what i THINK is the video (composite) out (or in) for the A31p..
also the same for the T40 series..
one of each..
and a whole bunch of trackpoint caps (cats tongue variety)..

Hello,
I hope you are well.
Interested in T30 and R40 LCDs.
Also interested in T30 bottom plastic. If Mobo is good, will consider this as well.
Please let me know.
Thank you,
Karl
