SOLD

Selling my T60p as I don't find much use for it since I graduated. This is a workstation laptop with the no longer available and uncommon IPS display with wide view angle and 1600x1200 resolution. You will find this screen quite pleasing to work with and easy on the eyes, much better then the current crop of screens that come in laptops.

2623-DDU

Flexview UXGA 15"
Vista Business
Core Due 2.0 GHz (upgradable to 2.33 Ghz Core 2 Duo)
2gb DDR2 Memory (4gb upgradable)
FireGL v5200 256mb
Verizon CDMA Mobile Broadband Card, antenna built into screen
Intel WiFi g
Seagate 100GB 7200rpm main drive
Ultraslim Bay MultiDrive (DVD Burner)
Magnesium chassis; carbon fiber composite lid and body
4 month old 9 cell battery
90 Watt 20V AC/DC Adapter and power cord

Warranty expires April 2010. Never needed it, laptop has been very reliable.

System had Vista Business installed and comes with CD Key. System originally came with Windos XP and thus also has a CD key for that.

2 years old in excellent condition, no screen scratches, etc. I'm pretty anal.
Ive sold 1 or 2 items on, have ebay feedback, as well as "heatware." I also sold one of these exact laptops to a forum member here.

Dropped to $750. Don't need to hold on to this.

You should probably turn those embedded images into links before a mod catches it. WAY too big of files to embed, with or without a pic warning.

Looks like an amazing machine though. Shouldn't have any problems selling it.

To the OP - I broke the img tags in your post. Please read the for sale and advert guidelines at the top of this forum for proper picture handling.

There appears to be a huge black chunk of plastic missing off the multi burner. Do me eyes deceive me?

Second last picture in the list

Looks like it's a 'Secondary HD bay adapter for CD bay with Seagate 100GB 7200rpm secondary drive; hot swappable'

Indeed there is. I filed out that slot intentionally so I could run an SATA cable through there straight to the SATA connector to connect a 3.5" hard drive. It's purely cosmetic "damage" to the HD bay adaptor. By huge; it's about the size of a SATA cable, 2mm x 9mm approx.

Correct. That's because I took the pics with the HD bay adaptor there in place of the DVD Drive.

Yes.

On an unrelated note, I have lowered the price to $725.

my psychic abilities seem to be less than advertised..
the interest evaporated with the revalation of a hole in the side for the cable..

i consider the T60p to be among the best and final IBM thinkpads..
i'll not part with mine..
it will go into my little thinkpad museum..

There is no hole in the side of the laptop. There is a goove cut into the $20-$30 HD bay adaptor that's easily replaced.
I think I will just remove the picture and perhaps ask that you remove the posts related, since people seem to misunderstand.
Thanks for the affirmation on the T60p's awesomeness. I just don't use it anymore.

Yes, correct. I can have it replaced before shipping the laptop, even. I didn't even remember it was there until someone pointed it out. It certaintly doesnt effect the functionalicty of the HD bay adaptor (in fact, in increases it! )

I see there are a few extras in the list. What would your price be for just the notebook, its battery, and power adapter?

edit: I noticed that it is specified to be 4GB upgradeable. Is this notebook not limited to 3.5GB by its motherboard?

I cannot comment on that. It will be same as any T60p. I was under the impression that you could run 2x2gb strips. 32-bit will only allow you to access 3.5 GB, however, I was also under the impression that you could pop in a Core 2 Duo and install Windows x64 and get all of it.

Perhaps someone else can comment.

Which hard drive? the system drive it runs now is the 200gb, the 100gb came with it.

Id have to think about it 'cause it would require me selling the extra HD, HD bay adaptor and whatever else I forget. Not really worth the effort.

You will NEVER get more than 3GB in any T60/p due to chipset limitation. Nothing to do with a CPU or OS, but with the board design itself.

You can install 4GB and it will be "seen" in BIOS, though.

Oh. That's a shame. You could use a RAMDRIVE to take advantage of that extra 1gb, though.

No you can't. That's been discussed in the T6x series forum over and over. But that really doesn't matter, it's not a deficiency of YOUR machine, but something that comes with the T60/p territory...

Good luck with the sale.

I don't know about that, but you need to wait 3 days until you bump a Marketplace thread...you waited 2.

Price lowered to $625. Price has dropped $175 or 22% since listed! It must be time to go!
This is a 75% drop off the laptop price when it was new!

(does a price drop post count as a bump under the referenced rule?)

If you drop the price every time, I guess you can bump as much as you like. :)

What screen is that (IDTech, BOE-Hydis)? The model number of the CPU might also be of interest.
