Lenovo X41 screen

Airline damage caused split screen on X41, making it unreadable. Any suggestions as to where to purchase a screen. Saw one on eBay for $165 w/6mo guarantee... is that a good deal? This is an older model so not sure just any screen will fit. It is the standard 12.2". I have a docking station and wondering if any other models would fit the station if I can't find a screen that fits. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Is the airline paying for it? If so, I'd get one from Lenovo. The third party screens are of low quality in my experience unless you get a genuine Lenovo part, but those will cost more. You might want to post in the Marketplace forums here to see if anyone's got an extra screen. Plus they're much more reputable here than eBay. I believe only the X40 and X41 can use the X4 UltraBase if that's what you've got. Good Luck and welcome to ThinkPads.com.

$165 if close to the worth of your X41 with a working screen. You could likely find a barebones X41 on ebay and just swap your HDD and RAM. Or upgrade. I believe I was able to find a screen for an X40 for around $30... you would have to double check comparability.
